Hey! A show!

We ♥ Spazz.

As soon as I walked into Spazz tonight, I could feel the energy change. A deep, pounding sound was comming from a computer manned by none other than Monroe's very own Dylan Eller, also known as Gold Coin. He kneeled behind a computer monitor in the back of Spazz while a crowd of about 30 gathered to listen to Monroe's new kid on the block. People sat on the concrete floor and stood around checking out records or talking. After finding a spot on the floor, I proceeded to get a hell of a lot more than i expected for the $3 I paid to get in.

Dylan played a mix of everything; scratchy, brooding mixes as well as upbeat tracks that had everyone nodding their heads. A most impressive first performance, I have to say. Hopefully, this will not be Gold's last performace. We want to know more!! So far, he has denied to give us an interview, but if he keeps playing like he did tonight, he's going to have to tell us something! Check out his myspace and let us what you think.

After Gold Coin played, everyone got to experience Clouds, a mixture of both Dylan Eller and Jarrod Page's genius. Dylan sat intently and methodically behind his computer while Jarrod sat in front of him, back to the audience, strumming his electric guitar seamlessly. Definately note worthy. Clouds brought a little something extra to the table with lyrics into some of the tracks (mixed on the computer first) and the guitar. Oddly enough, while Gold Coin and Clouds shared a main member, the two acts were less similar than you would expect. Once again, a performance worth repeating. We love you guys, keep up the good work!

Local favorite, The Rape Ape, was last in the lineup to play. Unfortunately your favorite editor couldn't stay for the performance so one of our friends is going to give us the DL on their performance. Thank you, Kate.

There will also be some amazing pictures to follow thanks to our favorite Kate Yancey. We love you!

That reminds me! There is going to be an AMAZING show tomorrow night to support Invisible Children. It'll be at the Monroe Jaycees around 5pm. This show is definately something to think about. Please watch the movie before the show, I have already seen it and it's incredible whats going on outside our little Monroe bubble. Thank you so much Lauren and Jessica for putting this on guys! check the flyer and the lineup here.
